        Παναγιώτης Δοξαράς 1662-1729
(Κουτήφαρι Μάνης, 1662 – Κέρκυρα, 1729) ήταν Έλληνας ζωγράφος, ιδρυτής της Επτανησιακής Σχολής.

Το 1664, η οικογένειά του εγκαταστάθηκε στην Ζάκυνθο, όπου έλαβε μαθήματα αγιογραφίας από τον Λέο (ή Λέω) Μόσκο. Το 1694 κατατάχθηκε στον στρατό των Βενετών και πολέμησε στην Χίο εναντίον των Οθωμανών. Το 1696 εγκατέλειψε τον ενετικό στρατό αλλά συνέχισε να του προσφέρει υπηρεσίες στρατολογώντας πολεμιστές για τον κατά των Οθωμανών πόλεμο. Οι Βενετοί τον αντάμειψαν δίνοντάς του αρχικά τον τίτλο του ιππότη, και αργότερα (1721) κτήματα στην Λευκάδα.

Από το 1699 έως το 1704 σπούδασε ζωγραφική στην Βενετία και από το 1704 μέχρι το 1715 έζησε στην Καλαμάτα. Τα υπόλοιπα χρόνια της ζωής του τα πέρασε στα Επτάνησα, ανάμεσα στην Ζάκυνθο, την Λευκάδα και την Κέρκυρα.

Το έργο του Παναγιώτη Δοξαρά σηματοδοτεί την στροφή της ελληνικής ζωγραφικής από την βυζαντινή αγιογραφία προς την δυτικοευρωπαϊκή αναγεννησιακή τέχνη.

The Bottle Rack (also called Bottle Dryer or Hedgehog) 
(Egouttoir or Porte-bouteilles or Hérisson) 
is an artwork created in 1914 by Dada artist Marcel Duchamp. Duchamp labeled the piece a "readymade",

Made by Duchamp while on a homeward bound train to Rouen in the half-darkness of dusk, this Readymade is essentially a cheap reproduction of a winter landscape with two drops of color added to it. Inscribed in the lower right corner with the words, "Pharmacie. Marcel Duchamp/ 1914," Pharmacy illustrates the imposition of authorship upon a piece by merely signing it.

Duchamp made three original copies of this commercial print in 1914. The artist once explained that these prints, sold in an art supply store, are signed by an unknown artist "of the worst kind" (Oliva 62).

Constructed by a carpenter in accordance with Duchamp's instructions,
 Fresh Widow 
is a reduced scale version of the traditional floor-length French window. Duchamp covered the glass panes with panels of black leather, obstructing the metaphorical view through the window that is associated with illusionistic painting. With the change of three letters, Duchamp transforms "French window" into the title "Fresh Widow," a pun that points to the recent war and the bawdy tradition of amorous (or "fresh") widows of soldiers.
